Before diving into restaurant lists, neighborhood facts, real estate trends, and local recommendations, I wanted to start somewhere simpler: experiencing Los Feliz in real time. For the very first episode of Finding Places by Nicole, I spent time exploring a few corners of the neighborhood and capturing some of the places, people, and everyday moments that help create its unique atmosphere. Rather than focusing on a checklist of things to do, this video is intended to introduce the feeling of being here.
When researching a new neighborhood, it's easy to get caught up in statistics, historical facts, or proximity to popular destinations. While those details are certainly helpful, they don't always translate into what it actually feels like to spend time in a place. Some of the most memorable parts of exploring a neighborhood happen naturally. Discovering a local café, noticing a beautiful building, hearing a story from a business owner, or stumbling upon a place you weren't expecting to find.
Los Feliz is filled with history, culture, local businesses, and iconic Los Angeles landmarks, many of which I'll share throughout this volume. But before we get into all of that, I invite you to simply enjoy the beauty, character, and possibilities of Los Feliz through my lens. Whether you're familiar with the neighborhood or discovering it for the first time, I hope this episode inspires you to stay curious and enjoy the experience of Finding Places for yourself.
